Wokingham has had a Sports Council for over 40 years with members representing a good cross section of sports in the Borough. The Constitution, briefly summarised, aims to co-ordinate, promote and develop opportunities and facilities for Sport in the Borough of Wokingham. With a membership open to all local sporting bodies, schools, local government, sports centres and other national sporting bodies and councils, we aim to act as a focal point for concerns and queries about sport in the present and the future. The Sports Council currently offers:

- Courses in Safeguarding and First Aid in conjunction with Wokingham Borough Council (WBC) Sports & Leisure team
- A link to Sports Sponsorship for individuals Under 18
- Representation on the Health & Wellbeing Physical Activity Group
- Our Annual Sports Awards
- A focal point for Clubs and Individuals to make their views known regarding Sport in the Borough
With our interface to local government the Sports Council is well placed to offer help and lobbying on sports-related matters.
